It's mid-July, and the summer heat is at its peak. As I reached the milestone of 50, I made up my mind to start a tea business in 2025 and have been running hard toward that goal. Now, looking back, I'm taking time to reflect.

It feels like time passes faster as we age. A friend of mine said that "life is like toilet paper." You think you’ve got plenty — until one day, you don’t.
It unrolls faster the further you go.
So don’t waste it, don’t take it for granted, and for the love of everything… keep a spare roll of perspective.

A Precious Encounter with Maureen

I'm currently in the process of blending Women's Tonic Balance Tea that's beneficial for women regardless of age. When many companies wouldn't open their hearts to me, I'm grateful to Maureen, who empathized with my vision for women's healing and recovery and agreed to help with the blending process.

I recently received 6 samples, and she deliberately didn't tell me the ingredients, asking me to experience everything – the aroma and taste. I tried them with excitement, but I was disappointed because the flavors and scents weren't very different from each other.

"How should I handle this?" She's an expert who has been making healing teas for over 30 years, and I didn't want to hurt her feelings.

The Power of Sincere Communication

After walking in the park and thinking it through, I sent her a heartfelt email: "I do love tea, but I still don't know much about it. Could we have a Zoom meeting sometime so I can get your insights?"

I waited anxiously, but she graciously understood. We had our first face-to-face conversation where I could listen to her years of experience and truly communicate with each other. She gave me so much encouragement, and we agreed to receive new samples next week.

I told her, "I'd love a tea that's healthy but also a bit more fragrant and flavorful – something that can be enjoyed hot or cold throughout the year." When she said, "If the taste is too strong, it's hard to drink daily," I gained another insight! That's exactly why people drink simple green tea or Earl Grey every day.

The Birth of a Meaningful Tea Label

Another company is preparing fragrant summer tea, and I had to create a tea label. I studied hard despite the difficulties, and it was a meaningful week of overcoming challenges one by one.

You who are with me now are like special family members, and I want to share my entire story with you.

The tea label contains a small logo image inspired by my dear sister and me. I was so happy when I finished creating it. I'm not good with computer graphics, but after several revisions and repetitions, I made it possible.

At its center is a small logo inspired by my beloved sister and me. Inside a fish symbol - representing Christ - I placed the Hebrew word "Qum," which means "Rise up." Around it, I embroidered flowers, and woven throughout is the beautiful promise from 3 John 1:2: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

This isn't just decoration - it's my prayer. I dream of women everywhere experiencing restoration in body and soul, blooming again like flowers after a long winter, rising up in beauty and strength.

Keeping Faith in My Calling

As a daughter of God, I want to put this image on all my teas, never losing my identity and calling. Rather than emphasizing anything religious to anyone, my sincere heart is that those who drink our tea will experience peace in their hearts and souls, find recovery in their lives, and through people like me, make their surroundings brighter and healthier.

Between Reality and Dreams

Even while dreaming like this, when reality gets tough, I sometimes think, "Why am I doing this at my age?" and my heart gets discouraged.

I asked my friend Mary, "Why am I doing something that nobody asked me to do, not knowing what will happen in the future?" My friend said, "Because you're you. Because you want to do something meaningful."

Yes, so dreaming and hoping for meaningful work is beautiful and gives purpose to life. Will you join me on this journey?

Toward the Next Step

Once this tea is finalized, I need to go through ingredient testing and COA certification for a healthy tea, along with preparing packaging. The MOQ is quite large for doing this in the US, which disappointed me a bit, but just like when I first went around looking for manufacturing companies, I believe there will be a company that will be a warm companion, and I'll spend time searching today.
